All of our products are sourced direct from Mexico, from Mexican owned and operated businesses. We are passionate about supporting the local artisans of traditional agave-producing regions like Jalisco, Oaxaca, and more. After bottling, our 100% agave products are imported directly to Australia with no intervention, in order to preserve the traditional flavour profile of the agave products.
Our brands are unique, Mexican-owned brands direct from distilleries in agave-producing regions, and are not brands you would find in Dan Murphy’s or Liquorland. That’s why we started Drink Miro – to bring you special and varied agave products with unique flavour profiles that are rarely offered in Australia.
Under each product we have provided tasting notes and information about each distillery, which should help you choose a product that suits your taste. However, we do not provide refunds of consumable products unless there is an issue with the product beyond personal taste.
Tequila is an agave spirit produced in specific regions of Mexico that honour the traditional process, using the blue agave plant. Tequila is usually sourced from the Jalisco region, but is also approved for production in the areas of Guanajuato, Michoacán, Nayarit, and Tamaulipas.
Mezcal, however, can be made from any type of agave plant, and is less geographically regulated, despite its traditional home in Oaxaca. It typically has a smokier flavour compared to tequila, due to the cooking process integrating hot rocks. While it is true that tequila is a specific type of mezcal, not all mezcal is tequila.
In accordance with liquor licensing restrictions, all orders must be accompanied by proof of age (via a driver’s license or government approved alternative), submitted at the time of order. If you are having issues with providing your proof of age, please email us at hello@drinkmiro.com.au.
Upon delivery to an address, drivers must legally sight proof of age (18+) matched to the receiver of the package, and confirm the person is showing no signs of intoxication. According to government regulations, first-time orders cannot be left unattended.
Drink Miro does not provide express delivery of alcohol. Standard delivery times are between 7-10 days, depending on services at your location.
Our products are packaged in a recycled cardboard box, and (if padding is required) with recycled paper packaging. To add to our commitment to the environment, our tape and post bags are fully compostable.
We deliver to most Australian postcodes, but if you have a question about your specific area, please email us below. We are unfortunately not able to deliver to the following postcodes due to liquor licensing restrictions:

Although we are based in Brunswick, Victoria, we do not have a public-facing store that facilitates collection of your order, due to the restrictions of our liquor license. If you live in Melbourne, however, your delivery will be with you very soon!
If your delivery has been returned to us due to no one being present to receive your package, please wait for redelivery. If your delivery has been refused due to liquor licensing reasons, please email us at hello@drinkmiro.com.au to discuss redelivery or a refund of the purchase price. We cannot refund delivery costs under either of these circumstances.
